Who is responsible

When you visit this website

Some processing happens on every visit, before you make any choice:

• Server logs: our web server records technical details of each request (such as your IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure. These logs are kept for a limited time and then overwritten. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Fonts: the site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.), so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc.) counts page views to give us aggregate statistics. It does not use cookies or track you across websites.
• Some photos on the Gerês guide page are loaded from Unsplash (Unsplash Inc.), which therefore receives your IP address.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use the following, and only these:

• cl_consent (cookie): remembers your cookie choice. Strictly necessary. Kept for 1 year.
• cl_embed_nobeds and cl_embed_googleMaps (your browser's local storage): remember that you chose to load NoBeds or Google Maps content. Kept until you change your choice or clear your browser data.
• Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*): set only if you click “Accept All”, to measure how the site is used. Kept for up to 2 years. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
• Until you choose, Google Analytics runs in Google Consent Mode with storage denied: it sets no cookies, but Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) receives limited, cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed.

Booking form, availability calendar and map

The booking form and the availability calendar are provided by NoBeds, our booking system; the map by Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd.). They load only if you click “Accept All” in the cookie banner or the button shown in their place, because loading them connects your browser to those providers, which receive your IP address and may set their own cookies.

If you make a booking, the details you enter (such as your name, contact details, dates and, where applicable, payment details) are processed by NoBeds on our behalf to manage your reservation. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, or taking steps at your request before entering into it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

When you contact us or stay with us

If you email or call us, we use your details to reply. If you stay with us, we process the data needed for your stay, including what Portuguese law requires: registering guests (for foreign guests, notifying the immigration authorities through the SIBA system) and issuing invoices. Legal bases: our contract with you and our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).

Who receives your data

The providers named above, acting on our behalf or as independent controllers; the booking platform, if you book through one; and public authorities where the law requires it. Google, Cloudflare and Unsplash may process data in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long we keep it

Correspondence: as long as needed to deal with your request. Booking and invoicing records: as long as tax and accommodation law requires (in Portugal, up to 10 years for invoices). Server logs, cookies and analytics: as stated above.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting earlier processing. Write to info@casadelouredogeres.pt.

You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).

Changing your choices

Use “Cookie Settings” at the bottom of any page to change your cookie choice. This also resets your choices for NoBeds and Google Maps content.
